Coffee: a long history to read up on.

COFFEE IS TRADITION – COFFEE IS HISTORY – COFFEE IS CULTURE.
From Ethiopia, in the Abyssinian region of Kaffe (which gave coffee its name), where the first plantation likely existed, the plant — valued early on for its energizing properties — spread over the centuries through trade routes, first to Yemen and Indonesia, then to South America (Brazil and Colombia), the Caribbean Islands, and African colonies (Ivory Coast and Cameroon).
Geographic migration and climate differences led to two major plant classifications:
ROBUSTA, wild and caffeine-rich, typical of Africa and ARABICA, more refined, less caffeinated, and delicate, mostly grown in Central and South America.
Coffee arrived in Europe around the 1600s, already in use in Turkey and Arab countries, where it was revered as THE MAGIC PLANT.
Its first introduction in ITALY dates to 1570 in Venice, thanks to Prospero Alpino from Padua who brought it from the East.
Coffee quickly became the most beloved beverage — at first among the wealthy due to its cost, and eventually the traditional drink in every home and gathering place.
Since 1946, the passion and life of the “TAZZA D’ORO” Family.

La Regina dei Caffè

A timeless classic – the first TAZZA D’ORO bar blend passed down through four generations, regularly updated and perfected through careful research and selection of the best beans. It is the most well-known blend from TAZZA D’ORO, composed of five different premium coffee varieties, expertly balanced. Medium roast, or light in the “Miscela Americana” variant, with sensory notes of toasted bread, hazelnut, and cocoa, good balance and persistence. Sweet, intense aroma, creamy body, and full flavor.

Decaffeinated Blend

A balanced and complete blend made from select high-quality Arabica decaf coffees. The perfect compromise for enjoying espresso without caffeine.

La Regina dei Caraibi Bio

La Regina dei Caraibi Bio is a selection of top-quality certified organic coffees from South and Central America. The flavor is simple but bold, with a sweet yet intense aftertaste. It retains all the sensory qualities of Italian Espresso and evokes the olfactory memory of grandma’s moka pot.

Il Principe dei Caffè

Il Principe dei Caffè is a blend of the finest selected coffees from Central and South America, with caffeine content under one percent. Recommended for those who prefer a light, inviting coffee, ideal for cappuccinos and café lattes. Characteristics: smooth yet bold taste, sweet fragrance.

La Regina del Guatemala

La Regina dei Caffè blend enriched with Guatemala Antigua, whose volcanic origin lends it a pleasant citrusy aftertaste, medium acidity, and intense bouquet.

Miscela Americana

Jamaica Blue Mountain

Considered the best gourmet coffee in the world and the most famous by far. Jamaica Blue Mountain grows exclusively in the high-altitude region of the island that gives it its name. Each bean is individually selected and contains only 0.5% caffeine. The bean’s slow ripening — due to the persistent fog that shields the hot Jamaican sun — creates a humid climate that enhances this premium coffee’s sweet, nuanced flavor. Characteristics: velvety, floral taste with vibrant personality.

La Regina Blue Mountain

A rich blend composed of the finest Arabica selections from South America and the Caribbean. The distinct flavor of Jamaica Blue Mountain blends harmoniously with the renowned Tazza D’Oro La Regina dei Caffè. A coffee bordering on perfection. Characteristics: perfect balance between aroma and body, medium acidity, sweet taste.
